The lowly house mouse, or souris maison, as it is referred to in French, may not be the worst of pests, but it can still cause a number of problems in your home. A barn mouse may get into grain or animal feed, but generally does not effect the occupants of your house. A house mouse, on the other hand, can easily get into cupboards and chew through packaging. To make matters worse, a mouse can leave bacteria-filled droppings on your counters and tables, contaminating your eating areas and spreading numerous diseases. If a mouse has gotten into your walls, it can chew through wiring, causing electrical fires and costing you thousands of dollars in electrical damage.
